San Francisco April 14, 1906, Four Days Before the Earthquake

Paladin1950

Still love 50's & 60's music!
I've seen this film several times. Someone in a trolly filmed it. It's rather eerie watching this. The people are totally oblivious as to what monumental castrophe will hit their city in a few days. You find yourself wondering how many of the buildings and more importantly the people will survive? The setting is supposed to be Market Street.

Wow, must have been before crosswalks were invented. It seemed like the people that crossed the road were amazingly confident. I was also super impressed with the guy that sprung up to sit in the back of the truck. Some people are so good at springing.

Surprising how that guy jumping into the back of a wagon was captured on film. My grandfather told me he used to do this same thing. In 1905 he caught a ride to work and the wagon hit a pothole and he was thrown off into the road. Almost knocked his brains out. Now I have a visual on how dangerous this was.
