didn't you have school bags like us..?I was just mentioning, the other day, how we had to carry so many textbooks in our arms. How on earth did we manage?!
We just carried them loose, in our arms, like one of the photos shows, Hols.didn't you have school bags like us..?![]()
Or with the notebooks in a binder and all the loose textbooks. I remember having great intentions of doing extra homework; that notion evaporated by the time I’d done the regular stuff. We just carried them loose, in our arms, like one of the photos shows, Hols.
Same here .. we call them Back-packs.When I was at primary school we had a little satchel.. carried about 2 books in it bcause we had one teacher,... and when we got to senior school, we had big bags because we had so many heavy books to carry because we had loads of classes and teachers...
..however little kids in primary school now.. are having to carry heavy rucksacks, you'd think they were going on. hike..

I watch little tiny tots, age 4 and 5 completely weighed down with rucksacks as they're taken to school every morning..
yes we call them both rucksacks and back packs...Same here .. we call them Back-packs.
So - which one is me?
It seems like every parent in my neighborhood drive their kids the 1-2 blocks to the bus stop. Then in the afternoon, they sit in their cars at the stop. It looks like a used car lot.My old neighborhood. The gang waiting for the school bus - that's back when busses didn't stop at each home of a schoolchild. We walked to the nearest corner and waited. I'm in the back row, furthest right.

they must do because all the kids who pass my window, every day returning from school..from the tiniest to the oldest are weighed down with heavy backpacks...Do kids even bring books home anymore? Everything is on their “free” laptop now. Do teachers grade homework? Do kids even do homework? I remember I had about an hour and a half to two hours every night. I did it in front on the TV while watching whatever my dad or mom wanted to watch until I was 16, then I was given a small TV for my bedroom and I did it there around 8 pm. While doing homework, I was only allowed to be on my phone for 5 minutes. My mom always brought me a snack.
you graduated high school just 2 years before I had my daughter...OK, now I'm feeling old! This is a SENIOR forum and I graduated high school and joined the Marines in 1974 and you were in grade school?!!
