I ran into this on YouTube and it sounded so cute. I love that she put ham in it!
They sound so good, I want to try them. Check out her video on beef stew. She puts marmalade in it. You're lucky you can get them store made, but are they as good as home made?I was raised on rumbledethumps . Love it... When I was a kid we made them ouselves with fresh ingredients but now they're sold ready made in supermarkets, but difficult to get in stores outside of Scotland ..and I rarely make them myself now..
yes actually they're not a bad copy tbh.... as for the beef I'll give that a pass, I hate stewed beef..*ugh*They sound so good, I want to try them. Check out her video on beef stew. She puts marmalade in it. You're lucky you can get them store made, but are they as good as home made?
well Dennistoun is just a scheme in Glasgow, so there's no reason why it wouldn't have been popular thereIt wasn't a dish that we tended to have. Perhaps it wasn't a favourite in Dennistoun, where mother was from. Father's side was from the Borders and he never mentioned it either.
Coincidentally, FM, I have mine in the oven right now! It kind of messy to make, but we'll see. I didn't actually shred my cheese, I used my food processor but the wrong blade so I had thin slices instead of shreds.I have never eaten any dish from Scotland and I have lived all over this USA. No Scottish restaurant anywhere?? Thanks RR, that looks delicious and definitely as good as a leftover.
Yup, she says that, along with Irish Colcannon.Sounds like bubble and squeak.
