Seasonal creep never rests…

Personally, I loved Valentine's Day. It was a special day in my home when I was growing up. My parents gave each other cards (mushy ones) and my father always gave my mother a fancy heart shaped box of candy. He also gave my brother and me each a box of chocolate covered cherries. Then it turned out to be my son's birthday and in the hospital they put a sign in the hospital nursery on his bed saying "Valentine Baby" (because he was the first one born that day). Over the years I have received many Valentine's Day gifts, candy and flowers on that day. Now...........it is just another day.

Does anybody in this world other than retailers enjoy having holidays rammed down their throats like this?
I don't. I'd just like to get through one holiday before being bombarded with the next, unfortunately, that's not the way it is. We can't even enjoy and digest the present holiday before the upcoming one is being aggressively promoted with incessant ads and displays. It's tiresome. Instead of looking forward to it, by the time it rolls around I'm already sick of it.

Making holidays happy since day 1!

No wonder Americans are fat...one calorie laden holiday after another...lol.

How about adding a few "National Eat Healthy & exercise " days!

We aren't even past the Epiphany, which is a biggie for Catholics but not a big draw commercially. Personally I would like a bit of a break between holidays. But greedy corporations want our money so desperately they will allow us no down time.
