Selling Paintings

The aunt whose estate I cleaned out was a noted local artist. The price tags she had attached on her works ranged from around $100 to over $400. I brought what were left in her house to my house. When I try to sell them, I can't even get $25 for one. Below are a few examples. Opinions?

If she was locally known, I would look for a local gallery and commission them the paints. It helps if you have a bio to go along with the paintings. For what it's worth, if they do take the paintings and showcase them, their fees will probably be about half the price.

Can you not sell them through a craft shop, or the likes, that sells on behalf.?

Yes, I've been all those routes. Art galleries haven't returned my messages, no "nibbles" on classified ads, a local consignment shop is always closed when I go there despite the hours posted on the door.

Maybe it's time to just hang them on the wall & enjoy them.

Or maybe, you could donate them to a nursing home & declare the value of them on your tax return.
