Seminar about Medicare in Doctor's Reception Area

I was invited to attend a Medicare info session this morning by an agent who said she is a "Medicare Coach". I thought it was just going to be a hard sell about switching to an Advantage plan, but after speaking with her, she said my plan (traditional Parts A & B with D paid for through my employer) was the best for me taking into consideration the benefits I get from my employer. However, having it in the reception room was kinda offsetting with people coming and going. Besides my self and the "coach" only 2 other people attended.

Awkward as it might be, I think I'd prefer that to the endless mailings I get about come-ons with a free dinner at a local restaurant.

We have the SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) that is sponsored by the state. The counselor that is for my county not only helps you select the right plan, but also can be very helpful when there are problems. Her main office is located in a nursing home, but in my case everything has always been handled over the phone.
