I know sometimes the media blows things up but it looks like this Nor'Easter is going to be a serious one, especially in places like MA and CT. The NJ shore and places like Long Island look like they may have flooding conditions. Just hoping everyone in this forum from those areas is safe!

We were lucky it moved out of here pretty quick. We had a light dusting of snow this morning but it cleared up by noon. The wind blew a bit this afternoon.

I live in Northeast PA, It snowed but the wind blew it away- YEAH!!!
I don't know, back in the 1950s, we just got snow. It wasn't "Killer Storm Gertrude". Same white stuff. but without the drama. I think maybe hearing about "The Storm Of The Century" every few days kind of makes every snowflake a national threat.

Yes, I don't understand what's with all the names that they give every weather system that comes thru.

I remember a snowstorm living in the NE back in 1950, when the National Guard had to come to our rescue.
It was a monster of a snow storm! ... but it never had a name.
Maybe it was called "The Snowstorm of 1950, when the National Guard was called.":)

My sister lines on Long Island, and I spoke to her yesterday. Her oil tank had sprung a leak, and fortunately, it was replaced last Thursday, before the storm.
Thety have a small snow blower, but she is waiting for the snow to stop, other wise it will get drifted over again. Our prayers for those back East with no power in the cold.
