Senior Discounts

I lied about my age most of my life. Nobody wants to date a "geezer". But the day I turned 55 ( the age most stores give a discount), I had no problem wiping out that Senior Citizens card. Now, I look so damn old, nobody asks to see it anymore. So did vanity keep you from getting 5-10% off?

I usually have to ask for the discount, but I do so without hesitation. Walgreens gives 20% off to seniors the first Tuesday of every month. It's a good idea to check the Dept of Again for whatever state you live in to see what discounts are available.

Some stores don't have a senior discount but they do have a veterans discount, Home Depot here is an example, so for you veterans, be sure to ask about that. I admit I don't always remember to ask myself.

I always ask for my discount. I figure, what the heck. Our local bakery outlet store offers a Senior discount every Wednesday. So, there are a lot of us old timers there.
I have never lied about my age. I had an aquaintance who would tell her age as 4 or 5 years younger. She was not fooling anyone. I remember once hearing some say if you are going to lie, then ADD 5 years to your age rather than subtract. Then instead of people thinking you look old for your age, they will tell you how great you look. LOL
