Senior Forums

I visited a couple of other Senior Forums and found that one was full of Goody Two Shoes Conservatives and another seemed kinda neutral and then there is this one which seems pretty liberal. A couple of others were just too Geriatric. It's interesting how these different Forums evolve

My first senior forum was Eons back in 2006 until they went belly up. There were political groups but were either conservative or liberal. So there wasn't a lot of discussion between groups unless someone from the other side dared to join - then they were pounced on.

There is another senior forum which has many of our current and former members and they are majority Trump fans. I joined a couple that are mainly UK seniors and didn't enjoy them at all.

Not for seniors only, but I was a member of 3 different American expat forums for many years, but haven't bothered with them for years.

I was on another 'Senior' forum last year. It was very right wing, dominated by British members and very racist. There was a very intolerant attitude on that board and it was not only tolerated by the Mods but seemed to be actively encouraged. It got to the point where a lot of what was being said and the intolerant attitude that was being whipped up there made me feel very uncomfortable. So, I left and found this place after a few months.

Ossian, can't remember which forum it was, but I was briefly on one of the UK forums before the independence vote and a couple of members were furious that I'd be allowed to vote in the referendum when I wasn't born here.

I'm on buzz50.com, which is based in UK. I also use city-data.com, but it is not just for seniors. I probably spend more time on Facebook than I should, but since I live out here in the middle of BF Hawaii, it's the only way I can keep in touch with my friends/family on the mainland.

I spend a lot of time on FB as well - family and friends around the world so the best way to keep in touch with them all.

I was a member of a UK based "Seniors' Forum" for a number of years, but it started drifting too far to the left and becoming little more than a place to slag off the government or anyone who had made a success of their lives.

I was not on the forum that I mentioned when the Independence referendum took place, Ameriscot, so don't know how they reacted to that. I do know that they were very anti-Europe, anti-immigration, pro-military, pro-UKIP [....remember them before they screwed up Europe!] etc. I got the impression that they had recruited from British Legion sites or ex-military sites.

Since that site, I have tried to keep out of political debate, although I cannot avoid the temptation entirely!

It's difficult to stay out...too tempting.

I didn't stay for long after being harrassed about independence. Rejoined later but have never really participated. Not even sure about their politics but if they are UKIP types, I'm outta there.

This is my first attempt at a senior forum. We'll see how things go. So hello everyone!

Hi Moofies, nice to have you join us!

I am on Buzz50.com as well. I like to post the same question on both sites and compare answers!.I know there are others both here and there.

Hi Moofies, You live in a beautiful state. I spent some time there several years ago.
