All this time I've been going back and forth between whether he killed her and ran away to hide... or if something happened to him as well and they also killed his mother. I can stop wondering now.

It boggles... and then to run away. Sounds as if he had gone to Mexico and was deported back when the authorities there found out there was a warrant.

I wondered about this when I saw it on the news...had the same questions as you Kate. His mother looked like a classy woman. How awful to be killed by your own child! From his posts, seems to me that he had some kind of mental break.

Oh yes, classy and beautiful. I guess we can just hope it somehow happened without her having the recognition of what was happening.
