Will be going to the Respiratory Clinic in September.. earliest appt I could get..

I would be very interested in knowing if anyone else has had this problem and what caused it?

Elyzabeth, I'm not sure I understand your post.

If you have pneumonia how can you wait for an appointment to see someone.?

I have had pneumonia twice in my life , life threatening and needed urgent medial intervention over a period of weeks, so I'm kinda thinking you might be talking of something different to my experience.

I had pneumonia three times in three months.. antibiotics fixed it right away...fortunately!

Now to go to Respiratory Clinic to find out, hopefully , why that has happened

Hi Elyzabeth.
This can happen and it happened to a friend of mine. I don't know how old you are and I see you are in UK and recovering from UK winter so with this, you are not surviving the winter very well.
Suggest you ask GP about PNEUMOVAX
http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcmed.nsf/pages/mkcpneum/$File/mkcpneum.pdf read about this vaccine here. My friend had the vaccine and hasn't looked back.
You also need to also build your immune system up. GP will advise you on this and add Vitamin D3 (via chemist shop) as even though we think we get enough Vitamin D3 - we don't. With working inside, leaving home of a morning, into office, out at evening, when did you see the sun. May have seen it but not got any on your skin, and being in UK and winter, definitely none.
Hope this helps you, and with you going to the Chest clinic they will help you more.
