Seville, Spain

Nice pictures !! We visited Seville last summer, it was Filthy, with Graffiti everywhere and 40 degrees in the mid-day sun... your wife was lucky to get such nice pictures!!

Hollydolly, both Mrs. L and daughter said that the city they saw was clean, smart, virtually litter and graffiti free. Perhaps it depends on the area, but they are saying that they would definitely go back.

We were in the centre of Seville... absolutely horrendous and that was just 9 months ago... In fact we took a tour bus because , as I have a home in Spain, and have travelled and visited many places in Spain , as does my daughter I'd never seen that much graffiti anywhere else and I was stunned!!!, so I felt we must take a tour bus and let it show us around the city , where it was bound to be cleaner.. Well apart from the riverside where the riverboats are, and the Botanical garden area .. everywhere was the same..Horrible!!

I would never return !!

Sorry that you had a bad experience of Seville. Mrs.L says that that they must have really turned things around. She and our daughter found it very clean and tidy. Virtually free of litter and graffiti, no chewing gum on the pavements or anything like that - a lot cleaner than Lisbon. They said it was one of their best holidays and would love to go back as there was a lot more to see. A member on another site described Seville as 'Beautiful'. Maybe I'll see it for myself one day.

My great uncle was a professor at the university of Seville in the 30's. He came back to Los Angeles early 40's and was a superior court judge there. While in Spain he married a beautiful lady named Flavia, she was a delight..... RIP Uncle Frank...PS I've always wanted to see Spain but it's too late now.
