Could you live in a shack in the woods for one year without the internet/phone service, transportation for $200,000?
Any comments welcomed.

The lack of modern conveniences and technology wouldn’t be a concern but being expected to provide my own food could be a significant problem.
Could I? Of course. Would I? Nope. Contact with family, friends and the outside world is too important to me.Could you live in a shack in the woods for one year without the internet/phone service, transportation for $200,000?

It would depend on a few things... like if I'd have to be there alone. And if I'd at least have a SAT phone for an emergency and just not use it otherwise. If it's a woods filled with dangerous creatures, though, all bets are off.Could you live in a shack in the woods for one year without the internet/phone service, transportation for $200,000?

You would get and receive $200,000.00Is the question I'm going to get 200,00 or do I have to pay that?
OK, thanks. I guess I'm one of those people that needs things spelled out.You would get and receive $200,000.00![]()
There are those times, I also need things spelled outOK, thanks. I guess I'm one of those people that needs things spelled out.
It depends on what woods the OP is talking about, how remote the shack is, and what condition it's in.What a lot of hassle it would be to live like that. And so much unnecessary risk for an older person. But even a younger person could have an unexpected health emergency.
I suppose with luck I could survive it, but I wouldn't voluntarily give up a year of precious good life for $200,000.
You all can create and add anything about the cabin, it's remoteness or otherwise,It depends on what woods the OP is talking about, how remote the shack is, and what condition it's in.
It would be a major hassle if you had to forage for food and warmth, but having to foraging to survive would sure make losing the internet seem trivial.
It's not for elderly people, that's for sure. Although, their chances are good if they lived that way before and they're in good health. I've lived in a cabin in the woods, but it was right on the edge of a town with several hundred people and businesses, a medical clinic and jobs. Also, electric and phone services. And I was a lot younger.
Knowing it would be pretty risky for me today, I would take the $2000,000 challenge. But it would be more about challenging myself than winning the money. I'd love to find out if I could do it. Getting paid if I did would be a bonus.
