I've got to tell you about this one. I've just got to!
Last night, in bed, I was driving along a dual-carriageway, as we say in the UK. I'm heading toward work. Then suddenly, I'm heading back in the opposite direction toward home. Then after a short while, I'm heading back to work, then back home, then back to work again.
For those trying to imagine this, who might be getting a bit dizzy, thankfully my dream starts to develop at this point: I'm heading back to work, and this time and there are workmen in the road, setting out red cones to form a contra-flow. Then suddenly I'm heading back home again, then soon after back to work!
This time the contra-flow is fully in place with no workmen to be seen. The contra-flow guides me to the opposite side of the carriageway. Then I notice a huge articulated truck (semi truck, USA) coming from the opposite direction. It swerves over to my lane, within the contraflow. I hit the truck head-on. My car is obliterated around me, and then I find myself under the truck -- no part of my car to be seen.
I'm not hurt, but I'm on the road, on my back, as the truck moves over me. The truck hasn't actually hit my body, as it's got a large ground clearance. Its trailer then starts to move over me, and I notice the trailer is sliding sideways as it moves forward. I fear that the rear wheels of the long trailer will run over me. So as I'm looking up at the underside of the trailer, I lift myself up from the road. I move myself sideways like a crab, so I'm in line with the center line of the truck, as it's sliding.
I've now positioned myself right in the middle of the rear wheels of the trailer, as I watch the remainder of the trailer disappear over me. I then stand up, looking down the road, but facing away from the truck that is now behind me. Then lastly, it starts to rain. At that point, I woke up.
It was definitely surreal. Almost cinematic.
