Should Parking Up On A Curb/Grass Between Road & Sidewalk Be Allowed-LA Deciding.

Should drivers be allowed to park a car on up on the curb/grassy area between the curb itself and sidewalk? It's become a hot issue in Los Angeles.

As noted it leaves ruts and/or tire tracks & depressions in the grass/dirt area along with damaging the concrete curb itself with the weight of a car driving over it. This is why I"m against curb parking because I'm tired of having to do the same repairs over and over again on our curb. Maybe if it's a commercial property or the local town owns & maintains the curb and sidewalk, But not a residential curb/grass. I've had to put poles with reflectors on them to stop it. Some plant flowers or trees. Others just put big rocks.

If parking spaces are an issue legal spaces need to be developed ie hate to say it-parking lots.

Parking anywhere near L.A. is HELL. The Southern California lifestyle does not include rapid transit/public transportation.

Only time I go near L.A. is to visit my son; he manages an apartment complex, so he arranges parking for me.

Even though that small strip is in the city right of way, the property owner is still paying the taxes on it. Property owner should be able to do anything he want with in reason on his own property. Seems as though if a stranger parked his car on my land not having a legal reason to be using the right away,I should be able to have him towed.

This is why I live in the country my land is mine!!

The only place I've seen worse for parking than LA is New Orleans. Drivers not only park on the sidewalks, they DRIVE on the sidewalks. If you get a narrow street blocked by a truck, there's no other place to go and heaven help the pedestrian who thinks he has the right of way.

Chinatown, in SF also.
