Boston fern...

will need some humidity in a cool environment..and the bigger the pot it's in..the bigger it will grow.

Can be quite a centerpiece.

Does anyone have/ grow ferns?

I had an Asparagus fern many years..but then it got so big and heavy..I couldn't transplant it to a larger container..
and it just did itself in.

This is the first year out of many that I do not have a Boston fern on my deck.

I have had several Asparagus ferns... one bloomed tiny white flowers that matured into berries.

Another fern I had was a Foxtail fern...very like the Asparagus, but the fronds were thick and stood almost upright.

I did transplant it over time to a large crockery pot. It had begun to look like a more droopy Asparagus, maybe reaching for more light; I don't know.

It got very large and finally broke the pot with it's huge, woody root system!
