Since old hipster mentioned collecting dust, it reminded me to ask the what do you

Collect question.

I hope it hasn't been asked on here too recently.

I collected elephants and after My husband died I started collecting angels...in fact my friend falcon gave me a beautiful Lladro angel.

I collect DVDs: older movies, film noir, silent movies. Hard to find stuff, well I mean hard to find if you want to watch it, you can find anything now thanks to the internet.

I used to collect vintage/antique jewelry, but now I never buy anything.

Unfortunately for me, it started with a very small brass pig. I now have a cabinet full of them! How could one tiny pig grow into so many?

Easily...my elephants grew because that is what everyone always got me for bdays, mothers day, etc...and then I would also buy the neat one I saw somewhere.

i finally told everyone that I don't collect them anymore.

Seems I'm collecting rescue animals these days.... 3 cats, 2 dogs and 1 horse. Also have another horse that wasn't a rescue. I'm not collecting any more tho.......

Oh - it also seems that I have a really good collection of tools as well.

I am at a dilemma here with what to do with my collectables...porcelain schnauzer figurines, carousel horse collection, fox hunt collection, books, vintage Christmas decos, paintings, boxes of long ago forgotten photos, and who knows what all I've forgotten that is now lurking in plastic tote boxes in my cubby holes taking up precious storage space...all of which should have been disposed of before I moved three years ago. I did downsize to half the stuff I had or would be crawling over the top of it in this house. But still not nearly enough.

My problem is no one to leave it to that would give a flip about it, and no good venue to sell it, too good for thrift stores or garage sales. Guess I'll just leave it and let the scavengers do with it what they will when I'm gone.

I have checked out Ebay, and it seems to me none of this type of stuff is really selling. So, it's just glorified junk these days. Doubt I'll live long enough until it becomes collectable again, if ever.

TICA..Cudos to you for giving those animals a home. I have to sit on my hands, as with the dog I posted about recently. Although, I really could use a guard dog for predators for the chickens I adopted recently..LOL

At this stage of my life, I tried to only collect friends, thoughts and memories.

Started clearing out several years ago. I am trying to simplify my life. No one in the family really wants what I have either. I have had several garage sales, placed somethings in consignment shops, donated to charitable organizations, ( take it off of my taxes at the end of the year), or just threw it out. I do have some beautiful antiques, ( mom was an antique dealer) that I am donated to the historical society to furnish historical sites.

If I had something of value that I wanted to sell, I would post a picture/price in the classified section of the forum. You'd have to box it up and mail it, but that's a given unless you sell it locally. I've sold a few things in the past locally on Craigslist, a car, winter parka, teak cassette cabinets, etc.

Ive thought of selling on eBay or Craigslist but shipping is something I hate with a passion, also a little scared with Craigslist.

But I am going to have to do something and soon.

When I was paddling out for some waves every morning, I often brought home things like shells, rocks, driftwood, bones, pieces of surfboards, pieces of boats and sand; lots and lots of sand. I would toss them in a corner by the front door and after awhile it looked as if they'd been washed up and left there by the tide. Cool!

For some silly reason, I have a collection of keys that I no longer need or have found when out a about.

These "daze" I have a vast collection of memories . . .

When I was moving I sold a lot of furniture and a car on Craigslist with good results. I was lucky enough not to encounter any weirdos you hear about. Because of the remote location of my property now, I wouldn't dream of inviting a stranger to come here and survey my situation, nor when they encountered my road would they even want to.

I used to buy a lot on Ebay, but never sold anything. I understand it's rather expensive and lots of red tape involved. I am looking into opening an Etsy store, anyone with experience there?
