The entire cast of MASH. Big Bang Theory cast. Entire cast of Frasier. So many others.
Sitcom actors try so hard to be funny that they are annoying instead! Or look stupid. They cannot be subtle,
Except Bob Newhart who was too subtle.

His real name is Wayne Knight and has been in other genres + He's got scads of $$$ in the bank.
One of his best parts was in Sharon Stones' "Basic Instincts".

When I took acting classes I was told there are 2 approaches to comedy. One is the over the top exaggerating character like Robin Williams, Don Knotts or 3 Stooges
which I think we are referring to--overacting perhaps. The other, preferred style is to say your lines straight and if the material is funny, that
should be enough. Let the line get the laugh, not you. This is easier, more relaxed. Such as standup comedians.
Or else som ewhere between the two types.
