Skier Digs Out Buried Snowboarder

Avalanches are real risks, particularly this year. I live less than a mile from the "considerable" risk avalanche zone. My house is safe, but they aren't far away.

North Ogden divide is just a few miles south of us. Most years there are no avalanches there, but this year the snow is really deep.

That snowboarder was really lucky the skier came along. A few more minutes buried under the snow, and it would've been lights out for him.

Seeing the reality of digging someone out is eye opening. It’s not easy moving in the snow and getting the equipment off and then the digging. He was calm, cool & collected. Go Pros really capture some back country reality.
