Skin problems?

Wondering if any one has skin problems due to sun burns as youngster?

Saw our family doctor yesterday.
Drew attention to a small bump above my lip & the scaling spot on my forehead.

Have an appointment to see a dermatologist in June.

Family doctor's advice ,,"Wear a wide brimmed hat".

Just curious what I have to look forward to in line of treatments?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you need to stay out of the sun as much as possible from now on. There are different types of skin cancer and they usually can be treated successfully. We thought tanning was healthy in the past and we are now finding out how unhealthy it was...

I used to tan a lot as a teen. I got sun poisoning and was told not to stay in the sun so long. That was many years ago. I'm afraid of getting skin cancer. I am very fair skinned and have skin problems, too. I have a red spot on my forehead that won't go away. Not sure what that is. Then my face is flaking off all over. So, I got a loofah to take all the dead skin off and it works. It was really reasonable at Amazon. Anyway not sure that is what you are talking about. Just saying what skin problems I have.

My wife, a sun worshipper in her youth, had to attend a skin clinic every six months or so to have various melanomas frozen using liquid nitrogen. Irritating rather than painful, with the obvious worry about what might happen if they missed one.

I had skin cancer a couple
of years ago on me head and I don't sunbathe
i get it treated every six months very painful
after treatment

Ok,, thanks for the replies.

What kind of sun blocks has been used sucessfully /suggested to those battling skin cancer?

Was once a redhead,,never sun bathed.
Did ride horses, go for walk without hats,, was long before sunblock was invented.
Suffered through childhood getting sun burns.

I am paying the price for my sun exposure of past years' I have had many Basal Cell cancers surgically removed from my face, neck, and two just recently from my nose. In addition I have Rosacea.

I'm probably doomed. Blue eyes and red hair...skin the color of Wonder Bread. I used to get sun poisoning as a kid, plus 7 years as an adult in the Florida sun...I was a redneck every day even pouring sunscreen over my head. My Dad and brother had darker hair and tanned copper every summer. My Dad regularly has skin patches removed...like I said I'm probably doomed.
