Smoking

I am glad to say I have never smoked, nor did my parents, my siblings, my husband and his family and our children.

How many others have never smoked.

I took one puff when I was a kid. It made me so sick, I never wanted to touch another one and didn't! Since then, just the smell has smothered me.

It might be fifty fifty I don't know but I think there might be more former smokers or current smokers here than ones who never smoked at all. Only in recent generations has the health risk and anti-smoking campaigns made a big difference. When I had my first baby in 1984 the smoking area was right next to patient rooms. I haven't had a puff in more than five years but still look fondly at Newport packs...I smoked for a long time.

Why? Gloatworthy?

Couldn't find an LOL smiley. :D

I smoke once in every other blue moon, if I'm with a friend who smokes and I feel like an after-dinner smoke or something. Sometimes it's more relaxing than dessert (and less fattening!). But I rarely buy smokes and I never smoke alone. I do it like I might do an after-dinner drink, if I'm in the mood for the taste of it and the company.

See socially I feel it's fine. I just couldn't stop at once in awhile. It got to be a pack a day. Besides expensive, I was getting winded just climbing stairs, it was time to quit.
