I really thought they might postpone in class studies-and for sure cancel football (in which case he wouldn`t have gone) but they didn`t. Really going to miss him-but who knows if they will stay with the current plans. He could be back sooner than we expect. Had a little "goodbye party" for him last night and our daughter`s friend arranged a phone call to him from Ronnie Cruz, who graduated from our local high school and went on to play for the Kansas City Chiefs. He gave him a pep talk about the possibilities this can bring for him-in spite of the difficulty of leaving his gf and his family. My youngest daughter posted this this morning-we are all so proud of him!
"Today my nephew Alex Adams leaves for quite the adventure and is following his dreams by leaving home here in Northern California to play football on a full ride scholarship at Central Methodist University in Missouri to continue his academic and football career. Playing sports teaches you to have self-confidence. People with high self-confidence are not discouraged by defeat or failure. They can learn from their mistakes and use those lessons to create success in the future. Alex, you’re smart, well-spoken, kind, dedicated, funny and we as your family are behind you, cheering you on!! YOU GOT THIS!!!!
