Social Networking... What Has Been Your Experience

So... this is my second week on the SeniorForums website. My experience has been good so far, I think. I've tried to stay open for all commenting and not become offended as I enjoy lively debating and opinions are just opinions. There seem to be many sites for seniors to participate in besides this site: AARP, Buzz50, SENIORonly CLUB and of course Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (too many to list here).

My question is do you have other internet sites you enjoy spending time on besides this one?

RV forums, shopping forums, gardening forum. I don't use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

Glad you are enjoying this forum. It is fun, with some nice people. I used to belong to other message board forums, like this, but now this is the only one I come to regularly . I follow Twitter, but usually only go when a friend messages me to go read something. I am on Face Book way to much. I have found that since my husband retired earlier this year, I have spent a bit less time online, unless he is watching football, or other things on TV that I am not interested in.

I’m not on Facebook, Twitter etc. just one other site where I mainly play the word games, I’ve always found the members on this site to be friendly, respectful and supportive, it’s a pleasure to visit every day :)

I was a regular poster at the AARP website for 5 yrs,got so fed up with the mean, spirited people I left in July '17
This is the only forum I truly enjoy coming to every day to see what peope are talking about
I don't have a Facebook,Twitter or any other social media account, they don't interest me Sue

Only a couple of special interest to me. But I do enjoy the friends I've made here. Very good people. :love_heart:

Yeah, some DYI sites, some building sites, some off grid sites
But this one has taken the lion's share of my free time for quite awhile now
I attribute that to stimulating subject content, site activity (sheesh), and varied active members

I'm registered with 3 other Senior Forums, but post very infrequently at them. One forum, I belong to is health-related, and I joined it in 2000 - made a few good longtime friends there. I find this forum to be populated with interesting, articulate people who know how to have fun.

I'm a member on quite a few forums but most I don't post on.

I post on here and on another senior forum.

Also one very very small private one that we only keep up for one very old member but we haven't seen him in more than a month so don't even know if he's alive....he's in his 90's.

Only do a daily Good morning Post there.

Yes I belong to a woodworking forum but don’t post often and another senior forum but it is fairly cliquey and not as nice as this one. I don’t belong to Facebook , Twitter or any of those social sites. That’s social overkill for me

Forgot to mention Facebook, twitter and Instagram...probably because I seldom use them.

Another UK based seniors site and a number of UK based camping & caravanning sites. I tried Facebook for a while, but got fed up with the totally irrelevant messages. I just didn't care what people I didn't know were having for lunch or what they bought in the shop.
