Does anyone here use a soda machine? I think Soda Stream is the best known, but there are quite a few brands and models.
I'm drinking a lot more soda now that I'm retired. I never pour even a half glass, but I keep having 'some' all thru the day.
I'm thinking of making my own, for;
reducing my cost (after the initial cost of the machine and supplies)
controlling the type and amount of sweetener
controlling the caffeine
eliminating carrying it home with my groceries
I've read that there are quite a few companies making soda syrup, in a very wide variety of flavors, which appeals to me. And there are recipes online for making your own syrup (but I suspect there will be some ingredients that a grocery store doesn't carry).
I've read that you can reduce costs by using a paintball CO2 tank and an adapter - but I've also read that paintballing has practically abandoned CO2 in favor of high pressure air. So I hesitate to 'invest' in that.
