Some Laws Just Don't Make A Lot of Sense!

We now have a law in this province stating that you can only get a medical prescription for 30 days. The standard for years was 90 days. This is suppose to stop hoarding of medicine. There are times when the heavy hand of the government does not make sense. As a senior I don't like this law for the following reasons:
1. Pharmacists charge a dispensing fee from $5 - $20/prescription. Now we have to pay this 3 times rather than just once. How smart is this when so many are unemployment?
2. Most of these drugs are used by seniors. Now seniors have to leave their homes or get delivery 3 times rather than once. More cost to drive or hire a taxi.
3. The more you go out the more people you will contact. Not a good idea these days.

you are right. I just received a refill for my son and instead of 60, I only received 30.
This is because some stupid people are hoarding prescriptions.

I don't understand how someone could hoard prescriptions with 90 day maximums. It seems more likely that this is connected to supply line disruptions from international suppliers, which has been discussed by media since Wuhan first shut down.

If there isn't enough medicine to continue providing everyone with their usual 90 day supply, a reasonable response is to limit all meds to a 30 day maximum, then bring the amount back up to 90 when the previous supply flow levels resume.
