Some Odd Numbers On The Houston Area Age Brackets Getting Infected

The greater Houston area defies the old people are the higher risk theory:
Age 40s 20.97% infected / 50s 17.96 % / 60s 7.18% / 70s 4.4%
Females: 44.12% Males 53.92%

I don’t think seniors are higher risk for Infection or more susceptible than any other age group. The issue is that if they do become infected they’re less likely to survive than their younger infected counterparts.

I think how strong a person's immune system is has much to do with it. At this time, not enough people are being tested to get an accurate picture of how many are really infected in each age group. It will be interesting to see if Houston's numbers by age are vastly different from other areas. I've seen where many younger people across the country have died from this and it's truly sad.

Such numbers probably indicate that older people are taking this illness more serious, and staying close to home.....whereas younger people still have to go to work, and be around lots of people...thus facing increased risk.

It might be because older people are more likely to stay home while those in their 40s have to sneak out to the bar or social club.

At least one number is fairly accurate and that's more men than women. Also Houston a warmer climate than the north east or west so the numbers might look different because of heat/climate along with population density.
