Some Olympians test positive for Covid, but it's business as usual for many athletes

My longtime neighbor who moved to NC several months ago called to catch up. She now has covid for the 4th time. She was vaccinated and all cases were mild. She is mid 50s and feels better after four days. Her brain fog persists to some degree. She recommended we wear masks when out and about because this one is so easily transmitted.

Anymore any covid news is kind of ho-hum in my opinion, unless some widespread outbreak or super variant shows up.

Twelve athletes tested positive for covid. OK. There's around 10,500 athletes, so that's .0012% tested positive. Is that really news worthy? How many athletes have a cold? Or a stomach bug? Or the flu? Travel sickness?

People are going to get sick, a few covid cases isn't news worthy.

Thank God Covid is weakening with each new strain. We haven't had a Covid death in a couple of years in the geriatric facilities I cover. Did have a relative die "from Covid" this week who was on hospice already for end stage dementia. He'll go down as a Covid statistic though he was at death's door before he contracted Covid.

I like knowing even if it is just to convince me not to worry.
