Some people do fall out of beds

Yes! I had a period of time I would. I don't like anything up next to me while
sleeping and I tend to lay right on the edge of the bed. DH is a bed roamer while
sleeping and would venture over and I guess I would try to roll away and - boop, wake up on
the floor. We began the separate bedrooms at that point and we both do sleep much
better and I don't have to fall asleep with ballgames blaring away in the room.

I fell off my top bunk as a kid. Surprised that only injury I had was a bruised leg.

As an adult, I got the brilliant idea to put silk sheets on my bed. To make things even worse, I donned a silk sleeping shirt. OMG, it was like being on a Slip N Slide.

No never fell out of bed... but I tell you the most painful experience for me was about 30 years ago, I was staying at a friends house.. and sleeping in a single bed which was against the wall in the bedroom.

During the night, while sound asleep I sceamed loudly.. and believe me I'm not a screamer.. but my knee had brushed against the wall, which someone had painted using a textured masonry paint on..... ooooh god the pain..... it almost ripped the skin right off my leg...

the paint on the wall looked like this...on the left

That type of painting was in hallway of one house I lived in during childhood.. and you're right, it is SHARP!!!! 😮

Within the last couple of years I did once. Sound asleep must have shifted a little too far. Scared my wife, but other than being slightly banged up from hitting the floor and being annoyed at being woken up, I was fine. I remember once being 4 or 5 and falling out of bed getting the wind knocked out of me, but that's it.

I've never fallen out of bed, even when married and had "my side", but my wife did roll off "her side". She finally backed up 2 chairs against "her side." Now that I live alone, I sleep in the middle of the bed, so it would be almost impossible to fall off. When I have to get up in the night, I make sure my thoughts are clear and no dizziness before I start walking, and there are pieces of furniture I hold onto along the way, even if I don't think I need to.
