Something Different For Your Hearing:

There was a vinyl album that came out in 1957 called "Word Jazz". I have a copy.

It features the dramatic voice of Ken Nordine, who was famous for his commercial and voice-over recordings, backed by a super-cool Jazz Quintet.

His specialty in the Word Jazz album was a series of spoken off-beat "cerebral" stories, with the Fred Katz group providing the accompaniment.

My favorites are:

What Time Is It?

Hunger Is From (Terrific Walking Bass )

My Baby

Flibberty Jib

Roger

I invite you to go to YouTube and listen to a couple of these...especially "What Time Is It"!
