Songs that cheer you up

I Just Want to Celebrate. (I have to be in a super-bad mood if this one doesn't cheer me up.)
How the heck does he sing and play drums at the same time?!

I just want to celebrate another day of livin'
I just want to celebrate another day of life
I put my faith in the people
But the people let me down
So I turned the other way
And I carry on, anyhow

That's why I'm telling you
I just want to celebrate, yeah, yeah
Another day of living, yeah
I just want to celebrate another day of life

Had my hand on the dollar bill
And the dollar bill flew away
But the sun is shining down on me
And it's here to stay

That's why I'm telling you
I just want to celebrate, yeah, yeah
Another day of living, yeah
I just want to celebrate another day of livin'
I just want to celebrate another day of life

Don't let it all get you down, no, no
Don't let it turn you around and around and around and around and around

Well, I can't be bothered with sorrow
And I can't be bothered with hate, no, no
I'm using up the time but feeling fine, every day
That's why I'm telling you I just want to celebrate

This song always lifts my spirits even though the lyrics are rather sad.

I hate "Brandy". It expresses the patriarchy so very well. If this band or song really wanted to help Brandy, lend her the capital needed to let her open her own restaurant and be the manager, not the blankety -blank waitress.

Or, even better, ask her what she wants to do instead of getting married!!!!! Don't make stupid-*** assumptions. But, the patriarchy won't do that - it can only see her as someone's wife; not a CEO. Not a college professor. Not someone who ditches the small town and moves to the big city for college.

"Brandy, you're a fine GIRL." So patronizing.

I do not like that song. Sorry.

Er, isn't the lead singer supposed to represent a working class merchant marine sailor?
