Southern California Edison does wild fire prevention work for high fire danger zones like ours.
Luckily right after the Hilary Tropical Storm, the temperature stayed outside below 90 degrees and inside our house below 77 without air condition.
An Edison sub-contractor replaced current telephone poles with fire-resistant poles, and the bare electricity wires were replaced with insulated electric wires to prevent wild fires. The new electricity wires are aluminum with a iron? core wrapped in plastic.
Six telephone poles on our dirt road were replaced simultaneously. Some with
fiberglass poles and others with fire-resistant metal/plastic wrappings 2/3rs up the pole.
They did nothing to the pole at our entrance. Our telephone pole has boring marks testing
whether our pole is rotten inside and needs replacement. Our pole was buried 6 feet deep some 50 years ago
