Amaryllis. Thats it. Years ago when we lived in a rental chalet, our neighbour would buy me one every year. They’d come in a pretty box and when you open it up and water them, they grow so incredibly fast. Very pretty flowers.

Yes you are right, the red one is my second year one. Some are sold with the bulb covered in wax and they say they don't need soil nor water. I got mine as regular bulbs and planted them in soil. They need some care and some dormancy period.
