I'm really not ready for spring quite yet. Still in the process of getting a few projects done inside and I'm not looking forward to the heat and humidity of summer either. We still have about a foot of snow in New Jersey so I'm safe for awhile.

Our Spring came a couple of weeks ago and azaleas started to bloom and then we got a "deep freeze" for two nights and all the blooms are brown now! Not sure how bad it was for my hydrangeas. Then today it was 73. We did not have much winter but I am tired of the cold. Welcome Spring!!

Interesting documentary on the BBC.

The vernal equinox marking the start of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

The theory is that millions of years ago the moon collided with the Earth and knocked it off kilter and giving it a tilt so that when the Earth travels around the sun we get the tilt away from the sun's rays causing the seasons.

It sort of makes sense because one would expect the Earth to be 'upright' and the Earth's equator would always be in line with the sun and the seasons would not change.
I never heard that theory before and the influence that the moon has on the Earth causing the tides and the seasons.

But I'm glad those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are getting the tilt in our favor. Global Warming? Bring it on.
