Interesting documentary on the BBC.
The vernal equinox marking the start of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
The theory is that millions of years ago the moon collided with the Earth and knocked it off kilter and giving it a tilt so that when the Earth travels around the sun we get the tilt away from the sun's rays causing the seasons.
It sort of makes sense because one would expect the Earth to be 'upright' and the Earth's equator would always be in line with the sun and the seasons would not change.
I never heard that theory before and the influence that the moon has on the Earth causing the tides and the seasons.
But I'm glad those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are getting the tilt in our favor. Global Warming? Bring it on.
