Spring Two Weeks Away

I just saw the northern Midwest will see warmer temps in a few days. Even though warm temps up north after the unrelenting cold are only in the 50s &60s I recall how welcomed they were. There is so much ugliness after the Houston freeze with dead shrubs and trees & palm trees and lawns. It looks like Sleepy Hollow everywhere I look. The cost of removing and replanting and replacing everywhere will be enormous.
 

here in NJ, it was sunny/windy/COLD yesterday. today it ws over-cast/windy/cold... with some snow squalls thrown in for good measure.

and daylight savings time rolls in next weekend!
 
I'm reminded of an old song I was made to sing in elementary school. It was dated even back then, and I hasten to add that language has certainly changed, but here are a few lyrics from it:
"Sing and be gay, Spring is coming!
Hark to the way life is humming!
Over the hills, bold daffodils,
Call out, make way for spring!
When Spring is in the air (repeat two times)
Minds are brighter, hearts are lighter,
There is never a care!"

Quaintly picturesque, huh? 😺
 
SPRING.......6 more sleeps.....😁😆😄😀😁......according to the calendar.
But.
Will see what Mother Nature thinks.
March....anything can happen......let's try to keep her happy.
My sandals and sundresses are just a reach away.
My rule is always.....April 1st.....winter shoes are gone.....sandal time, if not sooner.
April 1st....April Fools Day.....might wait to the next day......don't want to look too much like a fool.😁
 
Here in the Clear Lake area of Houston, the mornings are cool but then warms into the 70's. Its very nice in the afternoon. we did not get the rain and storms that north of us got today. We could have used some rain, though.
