For admission, ticketholders must be able to prove they have received one of the three Covid-19 vaccinations with emergency use authorisation from the US Food and Drug Administration: the two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, or the single-shot Johnson & Johnson.

AstraZeneca has had a bumpy ride attempting to get its vaccine approved in the US. The company claims the immunisation is 76% effective in preventing symptomatic Covid-19, 85% effective in those over 65, and 100% effective against severe disease and hospitalisation.

Despite the vaccine’s approval in Canada, the UK and Europe, the FDA has demanded evidence from larger-scale trials, results of which the company announced in March.

How convenient (to say the least). I wonder what the next game is... you can't come play in my sandbox, because the first vaccine you had was from Pfizer, but had your first vaccination been from Moderna, then you would have been allowed to play in my sandbox.

Booked a flight somewhere in the world (outside of your country)? Shucks, looks like not only will you be required to a strict quarantine for 7 days upon arriving at your destination, but you will also be subject to an additional 7 day quarantine upon your return (home country), because you had the Moderna vaccine last. Had you had the Pfizer vaccine last, you would have been cleared to travel freely with no restrictions.

Thrilled to no end that both dear husband and I thumbed our noses at getting vaccinated.

Yep, too much hassle, I'm staying at home. :) :)

The decision to not accept AstraZeneca in the US is logical because they didn’t approve it for use there.

They haven’t thought about tourists and likely you’ll see it approved for non-Americans later.
