Johnny Gaudreau 31, and his bother Mathew age 29, were both killed yesterday in New Jersey. The brothers were riding bicycles on a country road in Oldsman Township, when they were struck from behind by a Jeep driven by 43 year old Sean Higgins of Woodfield, New Jersey, who was arrested at the scene, and is charged with 2 counts of Death BY Auto. The brothers were pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics.

John Gaudreau was a National Hockey League star player with the Columbus Ohio Blue Jackets team. He had just signed a new contract with that team for a reported 68 million dollars. He played College hockey for Boston College for 3 years, winning the Hoby Baker award as the top hockey player in US collegiate ranks.

Tragically, today, August the 30th, was to be his sister's wedding day, in Philidelphia. Obviously that wedding has been postponed. Two more lives lost to a drunk driver. JIMB .

For many years I was a 5,000 mile a year bicyclist. For about 20 years straight I commuted back and forth to work which was 10 miles each way. During that time I had many close calls. I'm pretty sure I used up 8 and 1/2 of my 9 lives before I quit.

I already posted that early this morning
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau killed Thursday night

Sad, both had the bulk of the lives in front of them and already accomplished careers.

But to lose to a pos drunk driver. Sadly that pos drunk driver probably drove drunk before. He 'says' he only had 5 or 6 beers and did fail a field sobriety test. Apparently he tried to pass some other vehicles. He 'says' the suv he tried to pass was purposely blocking him from passing. That impatientence right there is why he's driving drunk-poor impulse control. Probably a chance other drugs were involved. 6 beers not exactly like drinking energy drinks.

Alleged drunk driver who fatally struck Johnny Gaudreau, brother lets out exasperated sigh as he’s ordered held another week behind bars

RIP
