Staying home for the Holidays or Traveling?

My wife and I are going on a scenic lazy drive through small towns in Florida and into Georgia with stop overs. Final destination is Nashville to see our son and grandson and meet his new girlfriend. Then we return and will go a different way home. Senior Road Trip!

Road trips are fun. I prefer to stay home in the winter, due to the fog etc. This year we will have to make some trips back and forth to LA because of various family health issues and housesitting. But I think I'll skip having Christmas with anyone. I'll try to stay home.

We've left the cold rain and high winds of Scotland winters and are in the sunshine of Thailand until the end of Feb. Christmas day will likely be curry or Pad Thai although it would be easy to find a restaurant with turkey and trimmings. I will Skype my granddaughters on xmas day.

We're going to my brother's house Christmas day...two newborns and a toddler whoooohoooo, guess those days of grownups quietly talking and sipping wine are over.

My sister's xmas will have her 5 grandchildren there - the oldest is 6!
