Article states it spreads 3-9 faster but doesn't make people sicker.

Excuse me but that is frightening!

Yea it doesn't make you any sicker but now you have a higher chance of getting it and it doesn't make you LESS sick..😖

CNN)A global study has found strong evidence that a new form of the coronavirus has spread from Europe to the US. The new mutation makes the virus more likely to infect people but does not seem to make them any sicker than earlier variations of the virus, an international team of researchers reported Thursday.

All the more reason why wearing masks and maintaining social distancing remains the best solution to holding down the infection/hospitalization/death rates from COVID-19.

None of this is really new news there has been two real known strains one weaker and one stronger. Seems the European one is the same that arrived in the US - the weaker version would be the one that many people had and never knew due to it being a weaker or somewhat inert strain. It doesn't seem like there is any known differences in the US outside of the two?
To further muddy the waters, I can show another study that directly contradicts this one.
