Did you have a chenille bedspread?

Yes for then and now.

As a teen it probably didn’t look great on the unmade bed.

I still have a heavier weight one from my MIL. It suits the 3/4 size white iron bed. Both are in storage in the basement. I really should sell them, except the custom mattress is handy for extra guests.

Had them as a kid but I didn't like them. I thought they were too heavy to sleep under and I told my mom I wasn't going to have one anymore. She got me something else and all was well. Beginning at about 9 yrs old I had restless leg syndrome.

i think the folks had one on their bed but us kids got these little thin blankets. i don't even know what the blankets were. they were bedspreads but like super thin ones. she would put a blanket under that.

No we certainly did not... the only bed that had any bedding on it was my parents bed.. and even that was just wool blankets no counterpane or bedspread..... on our beds ( kids) we only had coats for covers..

However my granny who I stayed with many times. had a golden satin bedspread on her bed.. it shone like a mirror... and it was freezing to the touch

I remember the chenille bedspread on my double bed was blue and white and had two peacocks facing each other. Mom and dad had a yellow one, if I remember correctly, also with peacocks. I don't think my younger sisters were trusted with chenille...lol.

I mentioned earlier about "chenille face" but heaven help the person who got caught actually lolling around or napping on  top of the bedspread when my mom was on patrol....it was to be neatly folded over the footboard of the bed.
