I've been meaning to post about it before now. My youngest grandson's graduation was June 16th at the school gymnasium. It was very glad to see my second oldest grandson, (pictured), who is his half brother. He stays so busy and does security at the school. He was off by the time graduation started but stayed so he could see the ceremony, which was lovely. With the exception of the Salutatorian, none of the speakers spoke too long, not even our mayor.
They showed videos of funny antics by the seniors and near the end, a slide show with each of the graduates' pictures along with the college each will attending. If they received scholarships that was noted on their slide. All in all, there was over $17,000,000 in scholarships granted! Only a small percentage of the class indicated they hadn't made decision of what's next yet (indicated by cute quotes) or were going into the military. My grandson will be attending our community college. Here he is with my granddaughter, his sweetheart and brother. It was nice to see my granddaughter, who we don't see often. She is living on campus in south Jersey and working almost full time at a major company. She was able to get a couple of days off from work.
Notice how the cap (bottom pic, to my GD's left) is decorated with flowers and text? Some were blinged up. We never did that back in the day. Are there any graduates in your family this year?
