Super excited - Poem is being published

I am super excited!! Received news a few days ago that one of my poems I submitted about a month ago, will be published in a book. I enjoy writing poetry. Many years ago, I wrote a poem that was published in a book. I would like to sell my poems to music artist. Now that would be GREAT!!! I'm keeping that dream alive.

Correct me if I'm wrong folks, but I think a young Elton John went to a record company and said "I play piano but need lyrics." Around the same time, Bernie Taupin went to the same company and said, "I don't play instruments, but I write lyrics."

The record company matched the two together and the rest is history! So hang in there, @Ladybj! Your ship might just set sail one day! :)
 
Normally I'd have passed this by, but you know something? This should be given the attention that it deserves because of the thousands of entries or choices, they chose YOURS!!

That's like hitting a slot jackpot! Congratulations and let us know the book it comes out in.

Tell me, Did you have to register your poetry with ASCAP first, to protect it?
Or, Did you get a copywrite on it, or does the book publisher do that?

I'm so happy for you! I had a poem I wrote for my first grandson published in a poetry book called "A Trusting Heart" over 20 years ago, along with a special award from the International Library Of Poetry.
Poetry is something of a gift, both to the poet and to others reading it. Congrats to you @Ladybj !🍾💝
