The stunning cave was hand-carved and built by its previous owner, eccentric artist Anthony Dracup, in the mid-1990s

The lit-up entrance to the caves can be seen from the beautiful brick-work kitchen full of wooden countertops

The gothic archways were made using recycled sand from the excavation, and the result of his hard work was around 650 sq/ft of extra accommodation

After moving into the house in the 1980s, Mr Dracup, who died in 2002 aged 72, spent years levelling the floors and chiselling away at the cave by hand

Mr Dracup also created the stunning near-vertical garden terrace above the cave - which is filled with intricately designed features

A humble 'hobbit home' with an incredible cave complex that could be straight out of the Lord of the Rings is back on the market - for nearly £100,000 more than when it was last sold.

From the outside, the Shropshire property, which is on the market for £295,000, appears to be a typical two-bed two-bath terraced home.

However, the mystical home boasts a secret cave in the basement made of sandstone, as well as vaulted ceilings and 24 pillars.

The stunning cave was hand-carved and built by its previous owner, eccentric artist Anthony Dracup, in the mid-1990s.

With medieval-style features, the house also has a long wooden table fit for a banquet.
