A Quiet American
I have a couple people I know from the places I've worked as a travel nurse who've said in the past, "Any time you're in the area, come and stay with me."
Now, I'm looking at being in both their areas in the next few months. The question is--given these comments were made pre-pandemic and I'm sure things in their lives have changed-- do I even take them seriously (you know how folks will say, "We must get together..." and they don't really mean it)?
I've thought about saying, "I'll be in your area in June or October and would love to see you..." hoping they restate the invite-- but that seems pretty passive-aggressive.
Maybe I should just plan on touching base with them while there (lunch, day in town, etc) and have paid accommodations in place.
Thoughts?
