Taller Toilets for Most Everyone

Even some hotels seem to be elevating the beds for some reason. Flood design standards taken nationwide?
We traveled twice last year and stayed in hotel rooms, in each case the beds were unusually fluffy & overstuffed...quite comfortable actually. I examined the beds, they appeared to have a mattress topper that was3 or 4 inches thick. I bought one for our bed(this one), it is "OK" but doesn't really have the same fluffy & overstuffed effect we were looking for. The mattress topper did make the bed noticeably taller, and awkwardly so.

We replaced the low round ones with the taller oval American Standard a few years ago, the ones that claim they can flush a bucket of golf balls in a single flush. The wife and I both like the new taller toilets as opposed to the low round ones we had before. Guess, like most everything else, it's a personal preference? :coffee: Don...

We had our toilets replaced with normal seating height, except in the master bath, it has a higher toilet seat and then we also had a pull bar placed on the wall in the shower. We did that just in case we stay here in this house and when we get older, it would make it easier to get in and out of the shower. We had 2 bars placed on the shower wall and 1 bar placed on the wall beside the toilet. It’s adjustable in height.

We are considering moving to a smaller home. We no longer need 4500 square feet. We would like to cut that in half.
