I'm sure everyone remembers the horrible flooding Asheville and the surrounding towns had several months ago thanks to Hurricane Helene. I saw on the news this morning that some of the residents are still living in shelters and campers. To add to the misery, temps dropped to 18 degrees last night, 15 degrees below normal. Temporary shelters are not made to handle that type of cold.
I have a special attachment to Asheville because my parents grew up near there and my elder relatives were all in that area when they were living. I'm just so sorry to see what these poor people are going through. It should make us all thankful for what we have.
