Getting older may not be for sissies..but there are some lovely perks and advantages as well. Do you relate to any of these positive advantages?

Feel free to add a benefit not mentioned here.

i find I'm more focused and more relaxed than I've ever been. I do have a very easy time setting priorities. I love being retired from work..but I never equated that with being retired from life. I still love what I love and realize that there is less time ahead than behind...but that just makes this time shine even more.

I feel a profound thankfulness for all the good things in my life and don't take anything or anyone for granted.

Please share your thoughts.

Great article... I agree.. I am far more confident.. and less afraid of consequences... particularly of speaking my mind.

Also... I can flirt shamelessly with the young docs.. and no one takes it seriously... (if they only knew lol!)

See the good—ignore the bad.

I have definitely got better at this as I get older..., I can now almost completely ignore the opinions and hate speech of people who are totally unimportant in any aspect of my life..

Love it...! Great posts! It's very freeing to get on with enjoying what matters to YOU. I love when people feel free to not limit themselves. My Aunt graduated from college at age 71 and loved every minute of it. She was retired from work..and said hey..it's my time..and I want a college degree. She was on the honor roll.

I've gotten very, very wiser and strangely very, very smart with my surroundings. But I guess I'm not ready ,at 78, to get any of these senior benefits. Actually when you look at my present situation of raising a 10 year old boy and a 17 year old girl I really don't have the time for senior benefits, may be later but I doubt Ill survive long enough to enjoy these benefits.:)

Life is good, and now that I'm older I really appreciate that! Seeing the bigger picture as listed there is something I've only really started doing as a senior. If you're feeling down in the dumps about anything, take a look around at the challenges some others have, and you'll soon put your situation in perspective and feel much better again. :eek:ld:

Wow, Davey..you have your hands full. SeaBreeze..I agree about putting things in perspective...it does help.

Don't care any more what people think of me, I can be as grumpy and intolerant as I like, and, believe me, that's pretty grumpy.
