'A terrifying time to be Jewish': Thousands in Washington rally for Israel​

WASHINGTON − Thousands of Israel supporters gathered Tuesday to stand behind the military campaign against Hamas, demand the immediate release of hostages held in Gaza and condemn an increase in antisemitic incidents across the nation and world.

The organizers of the rally, the Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, described the effort as "an opportunity for all Americans to come together in solidarity with the people of Israel to demonstrate our commitment to America’s most important ally" in the region.

Demonstrators, many clad in the blue and white of the Israeli flag and carrying signs expressing support for the country, streamed onto the National Mall in Washington throughout the day.

‘Let our people go’: Nearly 300,000 rally in Washington for Israel, hostages’ release​

Nearly 300,000 people rallied in Washington on Tuesday at the March for Israel, calling for the release of the hostages held by terrorists in Gaza and invoking the Holocaust while condemning Hamas’s October 7 onslaught with a cry of “Never Again.”

Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations CEO William Daroff said over 290,000 people attended the event, making it the largest pro-Israel gathering in US history.

Buses and flights to the US capital were organized by local Jewish federations, schools, synagogues, Israeli expatriate groups and Jewish community centers, while many more made their own way to the March for Israel.

President Isaac Herzog addressed the rally by video link from the Western Wall in Jerusalem, demanding the return of the hostages held in Gaza, and declaring that “Never Again is now.”

“To march for the right of every Jew to live proudly and safely in America, in Israel and around the world. Above all, we come together to march for good over evil, for human morality over blood thirst. We march for light over darkness,” he said.

Jewish people would seem to be the most logical group to recognize the common source of worldwide terrorism and object to its support in the United States. Hamas and its parent organization, the worldwide Muslim Brotherhood operate with impunity in the U.S., under many names, and flourish.

The multi-million dollar Diyanet Mosque in Lanham, Maryland was built by President Erdogan of Turkey whose AK Party is associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and he supported Hamas in the Israel-Gaza conflict. The mosque features guest quarters for visiting Muslims and Turkish baths.

I was just about to dig for this post, Tabby Ann. Thanks for bringing it up and posting that info. I had no idea that we had a mosque built by the president of Turkey in the USA. Erdogan is very pro-Hamas as well as anti-Israel and anti western countries in general and America in particular.

Here's the reason I was going to bring up the thread. I realize that most people here are not in the least interested in Israel or what happens in the Middle East but a few may still be.

So, supporters of Israel held that huge march on Tuesday. It was the biggest ever held on the National Mall. It was peaceful with no destruction, graffiti or crime that I've seen reported.

Last night the pro-Palestinians held a violent gathering outside DNC headquarters in Washington DC.


Pro-Palestinian protesters demanding a ceasefire clashed with police outside the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., where some officers were injured and at least one person was arrested. NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez reports for TODAY.

Have to get to your doctor? In an ambulance on the Bridge? Too bad for you. You don't matter to these people.

The Muslim Brotherhood realized long ago they can’t fight with America’s superior technological war equipment, so they use psychological infiltration instead and have been very successful. They are well educated, well traveled, and well financed and occupy high positions in our colleges, government and social organizations. They have been training college students for years about the evils of Israelis and western style democracies. They participate in Inter-Faith organizations and have mosque open houses and serve tea and cookies to members of other faiths and Americans are completely mesmerized and hoodwinked by this and feel they have done something great to interact with Islam.

Sadly, this is a topic I refuse to discuss in detail. It's just not worth it. I mention it at all because of the tone of what was here. A balance. But as for going into more detail, I'm sorry, I'm not willing to do so.
