Welcome aboard.
I attended Ysleta High School in ElPaso during my HS years. Prior to that I attended Grade School in Socorro.
It has been a ten years since I was out there. I particularly liked staying just over the border in New Mexico at the Casa de Las Suenos (Bed and Breakfast). I doubt it still exists, but the view of the Franklin Mountains and the food were worth the extra drive and the money.
My step father is buried in the National Cemetery at Ft Bliss with fine view of the mountains and those gorgeous sunsets.
