That time of year: warm weather = snakes

In this rural High Desert area it's become "that time of year" with the warm weather, when snake sightings are becoming common. Around here there are a lot of gopher snakes, king snakes, racers, night snakes and several kinds of rattle snakes: Southern Pacific rattlers, Mojave Green, and Sidewinders, not sure about others.
An acquaintance recently got bitten by a baby rattler(So.Pacific I believe); she was airlifted to the hospital and spent 4 days there. It took 90 vials of anti-venom to counteract the venom. I hope she regains full use of her hand.
