Here is a preview of the first show of this season in my TV Guide: "While not exactly light summer entertainment, viewers who couldn't take their eyes off the first season will definitely get hooked in to the disturbing case of a Spanish diplomat's kidnapped infant daughter and ritualistic murder of a baby snatched from it's mother in a hospital."
Speaking for me I have no desire to watch that show or any like it. Is that entertainment or just sick trash?

I'm sorry, but if you didn't watch the 1st season of this limited series,'The Alienist' '18 you don't know what you are talking about.I agree the show is not for everybody, its based on the book by Caleb Carr which I've read ,faithful to the book.I look forward to the sequel"The Angel of Darkness' when it premieres this Sun at 9pm on TNT The show is set in 1897 in NYC
The cast is terrific,Dakota Fanning plays female detective'Sara Howard',Luke Evans plays a NYT crime reporter,John Moore,Daniel Bruhl plays forensic psychiatrist,Dr. Laszlo Kreizler They join forces just like they did last time to solve this mystery

If you enjoy watching a ritualistic murder of a baby then enjoy yourself with both hands.
